The Management Team
All of the management team have been associated with the Company for at least 2 years. They have given freely of their time, and in some cases their own money, for Galvin Automotive Design Ltd (GADL) in the belief that this is a most important development project. They will only gain financially when the product becomes successful. G F GALVIN - B.Sc.(Hons) C ENG MIET MIED. Bill is a Chartered Electrical Engineer by profession, a member of the Institution of Engineers, the Institute of Engineering Designers, and a member of Mensa. He has an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South London. He was an Engineering Officer in the Royal Navy from 1953 (Engineering apprenticeship) to 1974 (Weapons Electrical Officer). From 1974 to 1981 he was Systems and Design Engineer for Babcock Controls and then Systems Design and Commissioning Engineer for Aircool Installations Ltd. From 1981 to 1996 he was an Engineering Senior Lecturer in Further and Higher Education, and is currently Managing Director of GADL. P E GALVIN - BA Cert Ed DipIT DipASK MBRA MSECT. Pauline has a Degree in English Studies, and a Diploma in Information Technology and Business Studies. Many years were spent in Secretarial and Administrative work with various London based companies and later at the University of Greenwich prior to becoming a Lecturer in Information Technology and Business Studies in1983. She is now a Director and Company Secretary of Galvin Automotive Design.
Dr M READ - Ph.D. B.Sc.(Hons). M.Inst.P., Ch.Phys. A.K.C. Dr. Read has worked as a high energy laser and thin film coating research scientist at G.E.C. Hirst Research Centre; a network planner and computer system designer at the Post Office; a patent officer and Head of Licensing at British Telecommunications plc. In his time with BT, Dr. Read managed the contractual negotiations of BT’s collaborations and was chair of the European Telecommunications Network Operators Group which liaised with the European Commission and the Group of Industrial Lawyers on European Collaborative R&D projects. Dr. Read also led the legal team which set up the TINA project between 22 global international companies. Currently Dr. Read is a self employed licensing consultant and is assisting GADL in this capacity. Dr D LITTLEWOOD - MA, DPhil. David has degrees in chemistry; after work in pharmaceutical research, he joined the Inland Revenue and became a fully-trained inspector of taxes. After a spell at the Oil Taxation Office, he joined a major oil company (Conoco) and became a tax manager and latterly a restructuring consultant. On leaving Conoco after nearly 10 years, he became a business development consultant, and in particular provided major input into the development of a very large underground gas storage project, serving as director and company secretary of the company. He provides GADL guidance on corporate governance and structure, business planning and taxation. He also advices on the thermodynamics and engineering of the product and its testing. D PRATT - BSc CPA RTMA David has a degree in Physics from Durham University, and qualified as a patent attorney in 1973 He has vast experience at drafting and executing patent applications, which is aided by his strong desire for accuracy both technically and grammatically. David has experience in telecommunications, medical and electrosurgical instruments, garden products, optical physics, and general mechanical, automotive and electrical products. He is responsible for all product patenting matters associated with GADL. D HAWKINS - David has over 40 years experience in business management. He has worked in sales and marketing capacities for large organisations, including GEC, ITT, Bunzl, and Lucent Technolgies. He moved into software development where he held directorships with Business Telecommunications, Excel Business Systems, and Seltek. At these companies he successfully launched software products for multi-site telephone call logging, accountancy, stock control, and contact management, and voice processing and computer telephony integration.
